Hotel description and useful information for travellers

Cleanliness

Generally reported as clean by many guests, but some specific issues noted (empty soap dispenser, chipped tiles, and comments about not cleaning daily for some guests).

Service

Multiple mentions of friendly, helpful front-desk staff (several guests named staff positively). Some complaints relate to valet/parking service rather than core front-desk responsiveness.

Location

Consistently praised: excellent location for Farmers Market, The Grove, Hollywood landmarks and close to attractions; many guests explicitly cited location as a highlight.

Room Quality

Retro styling and privacy in corner suites appreciated, but wear-and-tear reported in places, some small rooms, at least one report of uncomfortable bed and AC not working for a stay.

Amenities

On-site Swingers diner and pool are positives, but issues reported include unheated pool, intermittent wifi problems, and maintenance items (soap dispenser, TV remote) reducing the amenities score.

Value for Money

Mixed feedback overall but several guests called out very high valet/parking fees (~$49/night) and questioned the parking value, lowering perceived value despite reasonable room rates for some.

Restored mid-century motor lodge in the Fairfax District with an outdoor pool, 24-hour front desk, tours/ticket assistance, and Swingers coffee shop and café next door. Rooms have a microwave, refrigerator, work desk and cable TV, and bathrooms have glass-enclosed showers. Close to CBS Television City, the Original Farmers Market, The Grove and LACMA.
